The $5.7 million included in Proposition Y will go for technology purchases and the following facilities projects:

Middle School/High School

• Replace old windows (3), old door, and awning along east side of building.

• Replace crumbling steps on south side of building (main entrance area and in front of the theatre).

• Construct cover for cooling tower on north side of building as required by city ordinance.

• Complete needed tuckpointing projects.
  


• Build parking lot and corresponding entryway spaces on north side of school.
  


• Install heating and air conditioning controls to help with energy efficiency.
  


• Resurface track (it's been three years since the recommended time to resurface).
  
  
  Cracks such as this one are more prevalent since the track was installed 10 years ago
  


• Renovate aging restrooms in Middle School.
  
  
  While most areas in the Middle School restrooms have been upgraded, there are still some spaces that need to be renovated

• Install an intercom system for the entire building. This project is designed to address all possible safety and emergency needs for the students and staff.

• Complete construction of new kitchen and cafeteria for the school.
