mrhsd seed to table garden program

Seed to Table kids
Seed to Table is a unique program developed to provide a child-centered environment that helps our students learn from the natural world around them. The focus is on nature, life cycles and nutrition and students are immersed in health literacy throughout the garden curriculum.

The goals of Seed to Table:

  • Teach children to respect nature and the environment
  • Engage in hands-on exploration of food and nutrition
  • Emphasize healthy food and lifestyle choices
  • Promote the value of cooperation, teamwork and responsibility
  • Use of the garden as an outdoor classroom throughout the year
  • Teach students and faculty the basic principles and skills of gardening
  • To create collaboration among young gardeners, teachers, parents and members of the community
